Industry 4.0 || The Beginning of a New Era & It's impact !

The Industry 4.0 is commonly known as The Forth industrial revolution (4IR), it dates back to 2011 from Germany when the German government launched "Industrie 4.0" at the popular  Hannover Fair. In this post, we will take a look at how the World form the start of an Industrial revolution and the future of 4.0.
What is the 4th Industrial Revolution
  • The current age is going through an early age of what is known as the 4th Industrial Revolution, The enormous change in the world around us 
  • the Fourth is evolving at an exponential at the fastest rate than any other revolution.
  • It is disrupting almost every industry in every country.
  • FIR is characterized by rapid digitalization and conversion of existing factories/products to smart systems
  • The immense technologies like Blockchain, CRISPR, Internet of Things, Faster portable connectivity, Artificial intelligence are proving to be a prime participant in the way forward.
Positive Impact 
  • It’s enhancing the government and commerce etc.
  • Faster and better Services can be available for the end user
  • Improved health care, Use of CRISPR in genetic research, Cheap Medical expenses and growth in Life expectancy
  • use of AI, for almost every field and enabling it to assist Humans.
Negative Impact
  • About 5M jobs are expected to vanish due to, most work could be automated
  • Use of CRISPR in the making of a designer baby may lead to adverse effects on mankind.
  • Artificial intelligence, robotics, bioengineering, can all be used to create and deploy weapons.
  • Social media becoming more pronounced and shaping the mindset of people for specific goals.
  • Due to IoT the world will become a huge interconnected network and, it will pose a severe risk to Privacy, viruses etc.

1'st Industrial Revolution

  • Approximately started in 1712 till 1910
  • A rapid growth of machines and industrialization.
  • Originated in Britain and expanded to parts of the United States.

2nd Industrial Revolution
  • Approximately 1870 and 1914. 
  • in Britain, Germany and the United States, France, Italy, and Japan.

    a.Charles Parson patents the first steam turbine.
    b.Hiram Maxim invents the first machine gun.
    c.Elihu Thomson invents the electrostatic motor.
    d.Willis Haviland Carrier invents the air conditioner.
    e.Samuel Colt invents the M-1911 .45 caliber pistol
    f. Iron and steel industry saw a major boost
    g. 3 phase electrification
  • Massive work in Railway to increase connectivity for growing industry in Eastern USA
  • Local producers got exposure to big markets, US government saved them by imposing heavy tariff's.

3rd Industrial Revolution

  • The emergence of nuclear energy (most powerful source).

    c.Carbon Fibre

  • TIR Witnessed the rise of electronics, telecommunications, and computers, space research, and biotechnology.
  • High-level automation in production due to automatons programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robots.
  • The manufacturing sector was greatly improved due to automation, cheaper and smaller products started to appear on the market.
