A take on crime and pauperism || Greed is deadly

poverty, crime ,greed
Crime or illegal activities are intricately woven with the lack of basic amenities or the state of starvation, i.e. Poverty. The prediction is based on the causality and the strata indulging in these activities. However by stating there is a connection, what we are really saying is that poor people are intrinsically criminal which also suggests that they are inherently poor as well.

The above discussed economic strata are vulnerable to more impediments, than the rest society due to monetary instability. Which apparently plays a huge art in a human’s life. It is well known that poverty breeds poverty. And the state of poverty is lack of basic necessities another aspect to poverty-crime correlation is that illiteracy prevails in this section of the society, creating more lacunae or breeding grounds for crime. A poverty-stricken can’t survive for much time on a diet of morals and it is this hunger that drives poverty to seek solace in crime. The truth is that poverty is not innate, but is situational. The capital gap of the richest and poorest in our society contributes to this as well.

Poverty is not only economic vulnerability but also, lack of opportunities further hindered by unemployment and illiteracy, educational health provisions, co-occurring with other societal evils. It is noted, that the incidence of crime is known to rise especially in times of unemployment. Those who might never consider crime might take to it as a means to survive.

With demarche of eradication of poverty can bring about radical change. Eradication isn’t an overnight result, however, steps are necessary for the recreation of crime free society. Rehabilitation of the victims of poverty is an issue that needs to be taken more seriously, also due provisions for health, education and infrastructural facilities should be provide for their sustenance. Another important measure is employment opportunities to break the vicious cycle of unemployment and rise in poverty ratio. Thus creating a rainbow society for one and for all.
